WheelsAI is the brand under which this service operates. We are working towards incorporation as a UK limited company; once that is complete, this page will be updated with our legal entity name, Companies House registration number and ICO data controller registration. Until then, the WheelsAI team acts as the data controller for personal data processed through this site, and you can contact us at wheelsaimarketplace@gmail.com for any data-protection question.
Data we collect
- Information you give us directly: account email, saved searches, vehicles you save, enquiries you send to dealers, repair bookings.
- Vehicle lookup inputs you submit (registration plates, postcodes) used to fetch DVLA / DVSA data on your behalf.
- Technical signals collected automatically: IP, device type, browser, referrer, pages visited, performance metrics.
- Marketing consent state.
How we use it
- Operate the marketplace, account features, free vehicle checks and repair booking.
- Connect you with dealers when you submit an enquiry.
- Improve search ranking, recommendations and the buying experience.
- Comply with legal obligations (anti-fraud, KYC for dealers, accounting).
- Send marketing communications only where you have given specific consent.
Lawful basis
We rely on contract performance for account features and dealer enquiries, legitimate interest for security, abuse prevention and aggregate analytics, and consent for non-essential cookies and marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Cookies
WheelsAI uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences, plus analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4, web-vitals) used in line with the consent you set on first visit. Cookie settings can be reviewed at any time from the footer.
Sharing
We share your enquiry details with the dealer you contact, with hosting and analytics processors acting on documented instructions, and with regulators where legally required. We do not sell personal data.
Your rights
You have the UK GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Contact wheelsaimarketplace@gmail.com to exercise any of them. You can lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Retention
Account data is kept while the account is open and for a limited tail after closure for legal and accounting purposes. Vehicle lookup logs are retained for fraud prevention for up to 12 months from the date of the lookup.
